BRITISH PHARMACOPOEIA CHEMICAL REFERENCE SUBSTANCES
TERMS OF TRADE AND SUPPLY
USAGE
British Pharmacopoeia Chemical Reference Substances (BPCRS) are issued under the authority of the British Pharmacopoeia Commission and are supplied solely for use in the tests and assays of the British Pharmacopoeia or British Pharmacopoeia (Veterinary) in which a BPCRS is required. They are issued only for chemical analysis and may not be suitable for any other purposes. They are not intended for administration to humans or animals. BPCRS are supplied in unit packs containing sufficient material to carry out the prescribed procedures.
ORDERING
Customers are advised to
indicate clearly the catalogue number
and the
number of packs
to avoid unnecessary delay. Orders must be placed by letter, fax, e-mail or via the website. We regret that telephone orders are not normally accepted.
STORAGE
Customers are advised to
order only as required
, particularly where a BPCRS is to be used for a quantitative test. Although Reference Substances are of the required quality when despatched, there is a risk of deterioration on storage.
BPCRS should be kept under the conditions stated in the appropriate monograph of the British Pharmacopoeia or British Pharmacopoeia (Veterinary). All BPCRS should be stored in well closed containers and it is recommended that they are stored below 25

CONTROLLED DRUGS
Controlled Drugs are subject to import and export control restrictions. It is the responsibility of the customer to obtain necessary licences and other relevant documentation to comply with the laws of the importing country. For United Kingdom users, when ordering
Schedule 2 & 3 Controlled Drugs a photocopy of the Home Office licence should be sent with the order
.
For Schedule 4 orders a photocopy of the Home Office authorisation document to possess should be sent with the order
. There is a requisition form for Controlled Drugs at the back of the catalogue. A copy of this should be completed and signed by a Senior Official who is authorised by the Home Office to possess and handle Controlled Drugs.
When ordering
Schedule Category 1 Substances (Ephedrine Hydrochloride; Ergometrine Maleate; Ergotamine tartrate; Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride)
UK and EC customers will need to provide a Customers Declaration regarding the specific usage to which the substances will be put. This should be sent with the order, a sample form is printed at the back of the catalogue. Non-EC customers will need to obtain a licence to import from the relevant authority in their own country.
LEAFLETS
Leaflets which accompany the BPCRS contain all pertinent information regarding analytical data, storage conditions and advice on safe handling where necessary.
Certificates of analysis are not supplied
. Declared content figures and/or reference chromatograms are supplied where required.
EXPIRY DATES
All BPCRS are supplied with at least 3 months shelf life. The current Batch No is always listed on the website at www.bpclab.co.uk.
COSTS; PAYMENT; BANK CHARGES ETC
A. United Kingdom
COSTS:
All costs are exclusive of VAT. Costs are as indicated in the catalogue, excluding handling and carriage charges.
DESPATCH:
The handling and carriage charge for each order is £10.00 if sent by mail, or £15.00 if sent by courier.
PAYMENT:
Cheques or bankers drafts should be made payable to

DESPATCH:
When enquiries are received regarding purchase of BPCRS a proforma invoice will be sent with a covering letter detailing payment, mode of dispatch etc. We require payment prior to dispatch of orders.
Orders are sent by our nominated courier at a cost of £50.00, however orders of up to 4 vials may be dispatched by Airmail Post at a cost of £10.00 at the customers discretion.
To comply with EU regulations the Customers. VAT Registration No. must accompany all orders.
PAYMENT:
